Like I’ve already mentioned, one of the practical tasks that I have to do before I’m going to Los Angeles is to practice my performances. But what does that even mean? A whole lot of people have asked me: “So Caroline, what are you even doing during the competition? I don’t get it… Are you competing with your team or individually?”

To make things clear, I’m going to answer these questions. First of all, I’m part of the Scandinavian team and I’m representing Norway as a Senior Actress, but I’m competing as an individual. Secondly, as an actress, I’m competing with one-minute monologues.

Moreover, I’m competing in three different categories and I have to choose what categories to compete in. At the moment, I think I’m going to enter Dramatic, Comical and Open. In other words, I have to choose three one-minute monologues and they have to fit into those categories.

I can choose from all the monologues in the world, but it can only be one minute, and one minute is really short! It’s extremely challenging to choose my monologues and I haven’t decided on any yet. I’ve found a few different ones and practiced them, but I don’t think I’ve found “it” yet.

So, if you’ve seen or heard any good one-minute monologues, please let me know. I would love to hear your suggestions.
